The people of Iran, sick and tired of an oppressive government which murders same sex attracted people, women who have sex before their married, rock bands, youth and democracy activists for all kinds of bullshit reasons, are marching on the streets right now in millions, trying to force a revolution.

One of the reasons the protests have been so succesful in recent days is that people have been using sites such as Facebook and Twitter to organise the protests and communicate with one another. They have also been uploading videos to YouTube in order to get images of the protests out to the world, with media reporting inside Iran severely restricted.

The Iranian government has these websites blocked and the Iranian people are using proxy websites to get around this blocking but the Iranian government is quickly blocking all the proxy websites, making the proxy websites unrelaiable as a means of getting around the governments filters. People are emailing each other lists of proxy sites but they cant do so forever as all the sites get blocked one by one.

There are things you can do from outside of Iran to help the situation. There is software known as Tor which is much more reliable than the proxy websites.

It relies on people outside of Iran allowing their personal computers to be used as "Tor nodes". If you want to help the situation in Iran, go here and follow the easy instructions on how to set up a Tor node http://www.torproject.org/docs/tor-doc-relay.html.en .

You will only need to leave the node running over the next week or so, as the next few days are crucial, being make or break for the protesters in their quest to bring their government to justice.

This will help protesters organise and get footage out of Iran. While the world is watching such footage it will save lives.

The protests are getting results, people are breaking a number of taboos including questioning the final word of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Important matters. People are marching in open defiance of his orders for people to stand behind the Islamic state.
